Message from the University of Pretoria
It is with great excitement and honour that I welcome you to the IFIP TC3 World Conference on Computers in Education (WCCE) 2026, to be held in one of the most iconic and inspiring locations in South Africa, the Kruger National Park. Under the theme “Learnnected: Empowering Education in a Connected World”, this conference aims to spark meaningful dialogue, collaboration, and innovation across global education communities.
As the host institution, the University of Pretoria is proud to lead this initiative, offering a space not only for rigorous academic exchange but also for immersive engagement with nature and culture.
Our theme reflects the urgent need to rethink how we teach, learn, and lead in a hyper-connected world, and invites us to explore how digital technologies can empower inclusive, sustainable, and contextually relevant education.
Whether you are a teacher, researcher, policymaker, technologist, or educational leader, I encourage you to bring your voice, your questions, and your experiences to the conversation. Better yet, submit a paper and join us in shaping the future of connected learning.
My heartfelt thanks go to the Local Organising Committee (LOC), the International Programme Committee (IPC), and our many supporters who are working behind the scenes to make this event possible. Message from the IFIP TC3 Chair
It is my great pleasure, as Chair of IFIP Technical Committee 3 (Education), to welcome you to the World Conference on Computers in Education (WCCE 2026).
For many decades, WCCE has brought together a global community of researchers, educators, practitioners and policy leaders committed to exploring how digital technologies can meaningfully enhance teaching and learning. The 2026 conference continues this tradition while inviting us to engage with one of the most pressing questions of our time: how education evolves in an increasingly connected world.
The theme “Learnnected: Empowering Education in a Connected World” encourages us to reflect on how learning, technologies and societies are becoming ever more interconnected. Across diverse contexts and education systems, we are navigating both the opportunities and the challenges that accompany rapidly evolving digital technologies.
This year’s conference will take place in the remarkable setting of Kruger National Park, South Africa, hosted by the University of Pretoria. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Professor Riana Steyn, the National Representative for South Africa to IFIP TC3, whose leadership and commitment have been instrumental in bringing WCCE 2026 to life, along with the dedicated members of the Local Organising Committee and the International Programme Committee.
WCCE offers a unique opportunity to exchange ideas, share research, and build collaborations across regions and disciplines. I warmly encourage you to join us—whether by presenting your work, participating in discussions, or engaging with colleagues from around the world who share a commitment to advancing education through technology.
I look forward to welcoming you to Kruger National Park in October 2026 for what promises to be an inspiring gathering of the global IFIP TC3 community.
