Do’s and Don’ts in the Kruger National Park

Do’s

  • Do stay inside your vehicle unless in designated areas.
  • Do respect the speed limits (generally 50 km/h on tar roads, 40 km/h on gravel).
  • Do keep noise levels down to avoid disturbing wildlife.
  • Do use binoculars and cameras instead of approaching animals.
  • Do plan your day around gate opening and closing times—late arrivals or exits are not permitted.

Don’ts

  • Don’t feed or touch the animals—this is dangerous for both you and them.
  • Don’t litter—help preserve the park’s pristine environment.
  • Don’t block the road when viewing animals; allow other vehicles to pass.
  • Don’t get too close to wildlife, even in rest camps—baboons, monkeys, and other animals can be bold.
  • Don’t play music loudly or hoot—it disturbs both animals and fellow visitors.
