Do’s and Don’ts in the Kruger National Park
Do’s
- Do stay inside your vehicle unless in designated areas.
- Do respect the speed limits (generally 50 km/h on tar roads, 40 km/h on gravel).
- Do keep noise levels down to avoid disturbing wildlife.
- Do use binoculars and cameras instead of approaching animals.
- Do plan your day around gate opening and closing times—late arrivals or exits are not permitted.
Don’ts
- Don’t feed or touch the animals—this is dangerous for both you and them.
- Don’t litter—help preserve the park’s pristine environment.
- Don’t block the road when viewing animals; allow other vehicles to pass.
- Don’t get too close to wildlife, even in rest camps—baboons, monkeys, and other animals can be bold.
- Don’t play music loudly or hoot—it disturbs both animals and fellow visitors.
